WFX wrap...

Hey all, WFX wrapped up this afternoon. What an incredible conference! This year they had upwards of 5000 attendees which is up from 2300 last year. If you did not attend you should look in to connecting with one of next years 2 locations in either Houston or Indianapolis.

Highlights from this year:

-Keynote talks from Craig Groeschel and Andy Stanley (I wasn't able to arrive until later in the afternoon, but everyone raved about how great they both were).
-Catching up with several friends. Craig Janssen from Acoustic Dimensions, Houston and George Clark from Clark Pro Media, Don Allensworth from The New Ground Group, all the folks at Meyer Sound, Barco, and Martin Lighting just to name a few....great friends and great minds...
-The talk on branding your organization this morning went great. The room was full and had some great follow up conversations with folks afterwards. *I will be posting the notes from my talk some time this weekend.

If you are a media person or executive pastor you really need to make sure you put WFX on your calendar next year. The people you can connect with can definitely make a difference in your organization.

Back from LA

My Friday started at 4 am Friday for my trip to LA . I have been very honored by being asked to sit on an advisory board for a new conference being launched by NRB (National Religious Broadcasters) called Reach.

The conference is being built as a high level, critical thinking media conference. While most media conferences deal with with tools, the "how's", and the "whats" this conference will deal more in the "why's". The goal is to bring out more creative thinkers in an effort to better reach a changing culture.

The meeting was a whirlwind and we all left spent and exhausted, but I think the direction of the conference will be huge within the media world. It's definitely a different way of thinking and a different approach, but I think with some of what was come up with it will help spur on change within the Christian media world.

The conference is in February at the Gaylord Texan. Hope to see some of you there....be ready to be challenged.
