Biography

Mike Walker is an agent for change. His desire to help people and organizations effectively communicate allow him to make the good, great.

“In a day and age when we are fighting for people’s discretionary time and with the main stream media’s typical consensus being that Christian media is sub – par, I ask ‘Why can’t we do it at a higher level?’

Mike began his career as an audio engineer and producing concert tours and festivals that attracted up to 250,000 people including freelance work ranging from the Black Crows to the Billy Graham Evangelical Association to President George W. Bush. Each experience spurred ideas that he has introduced to the church world.

As one of the first people to bring concert lighting and sound along with award show stage design to the local church Mike has made the what if, what is.

He believes that if the message is everything, we must do all we can to ensure the message is received clearly and properly. Technology is one tool of communication and we must leverage it to open new opportunities for reaching people.

For over 7 years at Fellowship Church, he held the post as the Media Director over all five campuses as well as Ed Young Ministries.

At Fellowship Church, Mike emerged as an expert in multi-campus technology where the weekly attendance is more than 20,000 across all five campuses, and 40,000 for special events. He spearheaded 6 building projects and established the technology and infrastructure for Fellowship Church as well as each satellite campus to scale.

He is a pioneer in introducing HD technology in to the church world. He led the infrastructure change that allowed Fellowship Church to become one of the first Christian organizations to utilize HD technology across the board. Mike has also brought HD lighting techniques to Ed Young Television.

Under his leadership, Ed Young Ministries has expanded its program reach internationally. Following his natural instincts and strategic decision making skills the ministry has experienced exponential growth

His ability to lead a team and bring out each members true potential is part of what has made each new endeavors a success. The key is building a strong team, believing in their potential and working with “rigid flexibility.” He holds true to the core values and mission of an organization and allows flexibility as situations demand it. It’s a delicate balance, but by maintaining this equilibrium and holding to a high production standard Mike Walker has continued to break boundaries.
